Meet the Doctors

jeffrey H. Kern, MD

Dr. Jeffrey Kern is a pediatric cardiologist serving the Flushing community since 1996. He went to medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completed his residency in pediatrics at Mount Sinai Medical Center, and did his pediatric cardiology training at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. He is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Weill Cornell College of Medicine and has published many articles in the field. His areas of interest include congenital heart disease, rhythm disorders of the heart, and exercise physiology.

Dr. Kern is board certified in pediatric cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics.

ankur b. shah, md

Dr. Ankur Shah graduated from medical school at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine as part of the Honors Program in Medical Education. He then went on to complete pediatric residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship training at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. Dr. Shah joined Children's Hearts of Queens in fall 2017. His areas of interest include congenital heart disease, echocardiography, and preventive cardiology. Dr. Shah lives in Westchester with his wife, daughter, and dog.

Dr. Shah is board certified in pediatric cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics.
